On Friday 30th June, six pupils represented New City Primary at the Money Wise Challenge, a financial literacy competition between over 100 schools from across London. The children represented our school impeccably , working as a team to defeat the evil villains of Debt, Unemployment and Inflation in order to break the ‘Cost of Living Curse’ which had been inflicted on London. Pupils used interactive video games to compete, answering questions based on financial literacy and money management. They also received top tips from a panel of experts, including Rokhsana Fiaz, Mayor of Newham. Although we did not finish in the top 3 schools, our pupils put up an impressive fight, and even topped the leader board for the majority of the second round. A huge congratulations to Zahra (6W), Eugene (6JAE), Ayaan (6C), Nafija (5S), Anisha (5K) and Ayaan (5R).
